Aftermath
China was great and I meant to do a proper post this week, but unfortunately fate intervened in the form of a really nasty stomach bug. I've only just started to feel slightly better, so I hope to catch up later this week.
Writer, editor, second-wave feminist, I'm in the process of reinventing myself as a writer of creative non-fiction. Partnered for 30 years by a lovely poet, gardener and educator who, over the last three years, became a house-bound invalid and died suddenly in the early hours of 25 December 2010.

Harvey's last anthology, These I Have Loved: My favourite New Zealand poems, published by Steele Roberts, was launched on 10/10/2010. To see what Beattie's Book Blog has to say about it, click on the cover.

Fiona Kidman's latest book is a collection of long short stories. Several of them are linked together to reveal what happens to one set of famlies; others feature characters from New Zealand history; and one is about the harrowing time when her husband fell ill in Vietnam. I started reading it quite late one night and had to force myself to stop and get to sleep. Read it now and buy it for your friends. Click on the cover to link to the radio review.
In August 2011 Fiona won the Prime Minister's literary Award for fiction.
